An untailored knowledge through objects worn on occasion
Billows billows along the Metroliner and those big myths
like New Jersey follow you part of the way we all go
the same speed. He was a man of entrancing abandon.
There were parts to his body without holes, he liked to say.
Conjuctions held to the light; fields fields of grass growing louder
And. Early evening trains and grass combine a thunder

Waiting for Wo ds

This year the ginkgo leaves
fall in a pattern
just short of recognition
Someone will sit next to you
as you trace the lines of their story
and chew on your multiple fruit
At some point in this sidewalk idyll
the dogs will ask for explanations
with their eyes and it will all sink in:
the forest raised from scraps on the floor
the pictures of leaf scars in your wallet
the small vines inordinate in your hair
Sometimes when you sit there it comes
almost together
lobes combine leaves fall dogs entwine
